The first issue of CV Water Counts e-newsletter Water Watch was distributed in the fall of 2018. It has grown in scope and popularity in the past five plus years to feature timely news, water saving tips, upcoming events, and more.
Regular updates include a conservation tip of the month, landscaping tip of the month, plant of the month, and a monthly irrigation guide that tells readers how many minutes to water their yard each day during that month. It also features information on the Help2Others program – a CV Water Counts and Inland SoCal United Way Assistance initiative for those who may need help with their water bill. And each month one of our valley’s water agencies is featured in the Agency Spotlight. All this – plus timely articles related to water and the water industry, many of which can be found on the CV Water Counts News page.
Water Watch is brought to you by CV Water Counts, the nonprofit collaborative formed to focus on water conservation through awareness and education to Coachella Valley residents, businesses, and government. CV Water Counts is comprised of the Coachella Valley’s six water agencies: Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD), Coachella Water Authority (CWA), Desert Water Agency (DWA), Indio Water Authority (IWA), Myoma Dunes Water Company (MDWC), and Mission Springs Water District (MSWD). Find out more about the valley’s six water agencies at CVWaterCounts.com. And, for a map of the territory each water agency covers in the Coachella Valley, check out the CV Water Counts Water Map.
The e-newsletter is written and produced by the Hunter Johnsen team and one of the water agencies each month. With more than 750 opt-in subscribers, the e-newsletter has an open rate greater than 61.5% – far exceeding the industry open rate of 17.93%.
