Located at the entrance to world-famous Stanley Park in Vancouver, Spokes Bicycle Rentals has been serving Vancouver locals and tourist since 1938. Family-owned and operated since 1973, they are the longest running, largest, and most reputable bike rental company in Canada. With the largest selection of the newest bicycles, they are equipped to provide customers with one of the best bike rides in the world: the beautiful Stanley Park and Vancouver Seawall.
The team at Spokes approached Hunter|Johnsen during the pandemic year; they were wanting to expand their digital presence, through advertising, and a website redesign. They didn’t want to work with one person here and another there; they wanted a full service team who could assist them with everything from strategy, branding and creative design, to marketing, advertising, and the full range of digital offerings.
The old website was in need of an update and a new navigational structure. The agency worked closely with the Spokes team to determine priorities and key messaging. Analyses of the existing website traffic was reviewed in detail, identifying the top-visited pages, and a new website structure and creative design were developed. The Hunter|Johnsen team handled all research and analyses, site plan development, creative, and website production.
The site spokesbicyclerentals.com features scenic photos of Vancouver, and highlights the many cycling experiences available – all with interactive maps. Recommended cruises include Stanley Park’s Seawall, forest trails, and all the way from Prospect Point to English Bay. And for city-cyclists, there’s recommended experiences to Gastown, Yaletown, Granville Island, and Kitsilano. The website showcases the many bikes that are available for rent, a user-friendly online reservation system, information on group bookings, and even used bikes available for sale.
The website launched in early 2021. Traffic to the site and online sales have increased dramatically.
