CV Water Counts, the nonprofit group of the Valley’s six water agencies, working together with the Hunter|Johnsen team, recently launched their new website. The old website was in need of an update and a new navigational structure. The agency worked closely with each of the valley water agencies to determine priorities and key messaging. Analyses of the existing website traffic was reviewed in detail, identifying the top-visited pages, and a new website structure and creative design were developed. The Hunter|Johnsen team handled all research and analyses, site plan development, copywriting, creative, and website production.

The site CVWaterCounts.com features CV Water Counts spokesperson, Splash, who informs visitors about the need to conserve water, and the many ways everyone can join in to help save our most precious resource. The website includes an overview of the CV Water Counts collaborative, and their efforts to ensure that future Coachella Valley families can enjoy the same water resources we have today. There is a comprehensive SAVE section, offering everything from rebates and conservation tips, to videos and a photo gallery of desert landscaping. On the LEARN page, there is information on ways to protect our valuable resource, on the very popular Water Counts Academy, now in its fifth year, educational opportunities related to water, and downloadable activities for parents, teachers and children. On the PLAY page, visitors can download Splash’s Fun Book, go on a Scavenger Hunt, and find information on the CV Water Counts Poster Contest.

The site also connects visitors to many resources – a map of the service areas of the valley’s six water agencies, coupons for a variety of services related to water conservation, and links to all Valley water agencies’ Careers pages. There is also a list of local, regional, national and international water events, a blog, and the opportunity to sign up for the monthly Water Watch e-Newsletter.
