With the summer months being the most challenging for the LifeStream Blood Bank to receive donations, LifeStream teamed up with Hunter|Johnsen to create buzz and find potential donors for the 9 Cities Challenge during the Summer of 2018. A splash website was created with event information, a photo gallery, and scoreboard – showing how the nine cities that make up Greater Palm Springs were doing throughout the challenge, which pitted each community against each other to see what city could drive get the most residents to donate. Users were also able to reserve a donation time.
Hunter|Johnsen used Lifestream’s donor data to promote the individual blood drives in a targeted geo-fenced display advertising and social media posts were run and a separate behavioral campaign ran simultaneously to drive the message of the importance of donating blood.
The award-winning campaign – which included digital, television, radio and print ads – helped to bring in close to 1,000 donations in just 31 days, exceeding previous years’ donation records.
